Cedric is a recent graduate in Agricultural Science & Technology from the University of Mauritius, with expertise in sustainable land use, ecosystem services, and coastal management. He is actively engaged in youth-led environmental initiatives, including mangrove restoration, ocean literacy, and community-based conservation projects with Sov Lanatir. Cedric brings a passion for integrating science, arts, and cultural heritage to foster ocean stewardship, climate justice, and community engagement. He is focused on leveraging the One Ocean Movement to amplify local voices, promote inclusive marine conservation, and connect Mauritius to global environmental advocacy networks.
Denzel Juma comes from the informal settlements of Kenya, where the environmental injustices faced by his community inspired him to take action. He is an artist and activist, and the founder of Cre8ve Faraja Artbeat, a youth-led initiative that uses murals, storytelling, and community art to champion social and environmental justice. Through his work, Denzel has collaborated with grassroots communities and international organizations such as Greenpeace Afrika, ForumCiv Planet One, and Ubunifu Hub to spark dialogue and inspire collective action. His projects range from murals addressing climate change, governance, and education, to children’s creative programs and fundraising campaigns through art. Passionate about artivism, Denzel continues to use creativity as a tool for liberation, resilience, and transformation.
Yamini is a second-year BSc (Hons) Marketing with Digital Technologies student at the University of Mauritius. She contributes to the Content Creation and Art Department at Sov Lanatir NGO and has volunteered as a mural painter for the Save Soil movement, creating artworks alongside children and adults from village communities. Nationally ranked 3rd in Art at AS Level, she enjoys photography and transforming her pictures into paintings, with a passion for portraits and acrylic work. Yamini brings creativity, adaptability, and teamwork to every project.
Shellyana Luckeenarain is in the final year of her Software Engineering degree. Alongside her studies, she works in an event and landscaping company where her leadership skills and enthusiasm for plants play an important role. Her passion for art, nurtured since childhood, continues to shape her identity through the various projects she undertakes, and she also shares this passion by giving art tuitions. The harmony between plants and art holds a special place in her life. For the past three years, she has also been a proud member of Sov Lanatir NGO, where, together as a family, meaningful change is made possible.
Keane Chinea is a medical student pursuing an MD at the University of Mauritius, driven by a strong commitment to healthcare and community impact. During his time at Sookdeo Bissoondoyal State College, he served as President of the Eco-School Club, leading sustainability and environmental initiatives. He has also been actively involved in community engagement through organisations such as L’Escalier International City of Peace. A Gold Award holder of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, Keane embodies leadership, resilience, and service. He aspires to combine his medical career with community and environmental action to contribute to broader societal well-being.
